The gambling Capital of the world or the Las Vegas is located in the Nevada desert. Las Vegas has a population of more than half a million but its population swell has visitors throng in millions. Not only as entertainment capital of the county, the city of Las Vegas is also popular as a business destination as thousands of conventions take place here every year.

The most iconic Landmark of Las Vegas is The Strip, known for its casinos. Interestingly, the Strip has a turnover of more than $7 billion annually.

The best time to visit Las Vegas is in the fall and spring season. As the weather is mild and pleasurable during these two seasons. In summer it can get can too hot due to its location in the middle of the desert.

Consider making a trip on the weekday to save on the hostel expenses. The weekends are extremely busy and sometimes also makes it difficult to get entry in to the biggest of the clubs.

Safety in Las Vegas is an important issue. Avoid going to certain areas in late evening such as the isolated patches in downtown Las Vegas and South Las Vegas.

While in Las Vegas don’t miss the famous “Welcome To Las Vegas” sign, installed in the year 1959. Also, check out the observation deck of the Stratosphere Tower for excellent panoramic views of the city.

If you are on a long week tour than head to the other top attraction of the area, the majestic Grand Canyons! Yes, there are several day trips from Las Vegas which you can conveniently do.

You can easily rent a car in Las Vegas, and reach Grand Canyons from Las Vegas in about 6 hours. Alternatively, if you are in mood to splurge you can for a helicopter sightseeing tours of the Grand Canyon. The tour can be booked from Las Vegas. Also, it is possible to go and see Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon all in one day from Vegas. Note that if you are short on time, you need to choose either one of upper or lower antelope canyon.

The minimum drinking age in Las Vegas is 21 years, and you can drink as long as the party goes. There is no closeout time for the bars in the city.
