Try your hand at tennis in one of the many tennis courts in the city. LA is known for its tennis scene and the great players it has produced over the years. You can easily find a game in one of free tennis courts run by the LA city district.

Check the weather before you plan to go Los Angeles. Carry a smog mask if you see there are warnings. Due to its geographical position LA is prone to smog conditions during the summer. Dangerous areas: East Los Angeles is notorious for its gang culture. You should avoid going to some of the neighborhoods of East L.A., Oakwood, Inglewood and Compton late at night.

Venice Beach is the most popular beach in Los Angeles. There is a direct metro line connecting the further parts of the town to the Venice Beach. The metro line is easy to navigate and you can quickly reach Venice beach even if you staying on Hollywood Blvd.
