The public transport is one of the best in U.S and you will rarely need a cab to see the city. Portland is also considered America’s Greenest City.

If you like tasting beers from different regions, you are in the right place. Portland is unofficially called the Microbrewery Capital of the World. Most of the bars serve beers made in one of the city breweries

Portland has a big culture scene focused on food, drinks and music. Portland is a hub for Jazz and blues. People of Portland also admire folk and indie rock. Make sure you time your visit to match your favorite music show. There are many large outdoor venues spread through the city, some of them include the names such as: Crystal Ballroom and Edgefield.

If you are looking for cheap food in Portland, go for the food carts which serve yummy street food at fraction of a price. Go visit SE 12th and Hawthorne and you will not be disappointed!

Portland is considered one of the safest city in America. There are few dangerous areas, that you need to avoid during late night, Sandy Blvd. and areas of the Old Town.

Don’t miss out taking a stroll through the Saturday Market.  Open 9 months a year from March till December, Saturday Market is considered one of the largest outdoor market in the country.

Portland has one of the finest Japanese Garden in the whole US. It can be reached at the West Hills of the city. The sprawling garden consists of 5 collections spread across a huge 5.5 acres of well maintained property.

Go loose yourself in the Powell’s City of Books, a flagship store of the chain which houses one of the biggest collection of books, infact it is considered one of the biggest indie bookstores chain in the world.

Portland is a very bike friendly city. Bike lanes are clearly marked and you will find a no. of bike riding tours in Portland. Biking is definitely a great to explore the city of Portland.
